- Payment data: Transaction references and amounts — we do not store card numbers; payments are processed by Paystack and Stripe
- Location: Country detection via IP address for content licensing compliance

We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the streaming service
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send OTP codes, payment receipts, and subscription reminders
- Personalise your content recommendations

3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only with:
- Payment processors: Paystack and Stripe for transaction processing
- Email providers: For sending transactional emails (OTP, receipts, reminders)
- SMS providers: Twilio for OTP delivery by SMS
- Video delivery: Bunny.net CDN for secure video streaming

4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Watch history and activity logs are retained for up to 30 days for analytics purposes. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required for financial compliance. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

We use cookies and local storage to maintain your login session, remember your preferences (such as Kids Mode), and detect your device type for the app. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
5a. YouTube Embedded Content
Showmine embeds YouTube videos for trailers, live streams, and religious content. When you watch embedded YouTube content on our platform, YouTube may collect data about your interaction in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. This may include cookies set by Google/YouTube on your device.
YouTube embedded content is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. By using sections of our platform that include YouTube embeds (such as Live TV, Religious content, and movie trailers), you acknowledge that Google/YouTube may process data as described in their own privacy policy. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode where available to minimise data collection before you interact with embedded videos.
6. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard measures including encrypted HTTPS connections, bcrypt password hashing, and signed video stream tokens. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
